Contemporary


Contemporary dance stresses versatility and improvisation, unlike the strict, structured nature of ballet. Contemporary dancers focus on floorwork, using gravity to pull them down to the floor. This dance genre is often done in bare feet. Contemporary dance can be performed to many different styles of music.

Contemporary technique, lyrical music. It’s contractions … catch and release, floor falls, spirals, spins and leaps. It’s not just about movement - it’s about understanding your body and FEELING the MOVEMENT.

Hip Hop/Street


Hip Hop / Street dance is a fusion of a wide range of styles including breaking, funk, popping and locking to name just a few. Hip Hop, rap and commercial music is the platform that choreographers use to create energetic fun routines. It is always evolving with hip hop and funk culture ….its sassy, it can be sexy ( age appropriate), it’s energetic and we have loads of fun.

It will test the fitness too – learn a flying push up, the worm or the coffee grinder or just pop n’ lock it out with a body roll.

Tap Dance


Musical Feet”…”Happy Feet” In essence the dancer becomes a percussive musician. Tap dance is often characterized by syncopation and improvisation. Tap can also be performed without music, known as ‘Capella’ dancing.

Modern Jazz


A free expressive style of dancing with elements of contemporary, theatrical and jazz dance. Technique is still key to develop the use of the entire body in movements expressive of abstract ideas. A fun energising style of dance.

This is a style that incorporates ballet, jazz and contemporary! Technique and style are important – Modern dance is suitable for any child that loves to move their bodies to a beat.

Open Class


Elements from Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary all round up and rolled into one awesome class that will make you stretch and reach further than you thought you were capable of.

Baby Ballet


This is essentially movement to music class that toddlers from 2 ½ years old can begin to appreciate music and learn different movements in a fun, non-stressful, enthusiastic and loving environment.
